The new design is definitely user-friendlier than the older version.
Compared to the football team’s previous layout and color arrangements: plain white background, dark blue texts and flat graphics, the developers have achieved great visual aesthetics on this one, making it deserving to be the official website of the second most richest club in the English Premier League.
Still run mostly on Flash, the home of ‘the Blues’ online makes Chelsea fans come back for more because of the additional features included in the site like, THE SHED and THE BRIDGE KIDS tab but both are still being completed.
Naturally, the site remains consistent in games, fixtures, and results, including online ticket selling, online shopping, and free membership registration – hassle free.
A great deal of the Chelsea players’ profiles are presented in the ‘PLAYERS’ tab not fore fronting the star players but mixing them together leaving no reserve and youth player behind.
However, the page does not load faster. It’s the same problem the site had from a fully featured flash-run site.
Also, it is very disappointing a club as rich as Chelsea FC not to give full-access to the pay per view ChelseaTV.
Roman Abramovich may be thinking about earning more but even a radio for his club’s followers to keep track of live games is not readily available.
The continuous posting of press releases and news (but not as fresh as ESPN Soccernet’s), also still keeping the interactive message boards with occasional posts from the players, makes the site more of a football need than a plain “go-to” for Chelsea FC’s fans online.
